Carl & Sarita Howard

Worship Arts Pastors

Carl and Sarita Howard met in 1979 and were high school sweethearts. They married in 1984 and immediately started their first Christian Rock Band (at a time and in a region where it was not popular to do so). They played in coffee houses, youth group lock ins, parks, and even ice skating rinks.

They moved to Lexington, ,KY and took their first church staff position as Worship Leaders in 1991 at Lighthouse Church in Owenton, KY where they drove an hour and a half one way for each service.

After one year in Owenton, KY, Carl and Sarita relocated to Nashville, TN to focus on their songwriting, and led worship in several churches in the Nashville area.

Their desire is to raise up the next generations as worship leaders to have an encounter in the presence of God, and to lead congregations in that presence. Carl and Sarita love to write worship songs and have a desire to write songs that impact churches around the world and to encourage and train other songwriters.

In 2019, Sarita received her Doctorate of Ministry from White Horse School of Ministries, which she studied for many years to receive while simultaneously homeschooling their three children (now all adults.) In this current season, they feel it is time to move forward with teaching the younger generations in worship.

In January 2021, Carl and Sarita returned to their roots and once again, began attending Lighthouse Church in Owenton, KY - thirty years after accepting their first worship leader position in that church. They have come full circle and have accepted the position of Worship Arts Pastors in the same place they started in 1991. This time, Carl and Sarita have thirty years of experience under their belts, and have found themselves coming in, not just as worship leaders, but as a Worship Father and a Worship Mother, with a heart to raise up the next generations and to teach and train them in worship .

Carl and Sarita are currently on staff at Lighthouse Church in Owenton, KY and serve as Worship Arts Pastors.
